Door entry systems in La Selva del Camp
La Selva del Camp mixes two kinds of home that call for different answers. On one hand the houses of the old quarter, with stone facades, wooden doors and entry systems that have hung there for decades. On the other the newer blocks and townhouses in the streets beyond, with residents who want to see who is calling before they open the door.
In door entry and video entry our work falls mainly into three situations:
- An audio system that is failing: crackly sound, no door release, or it works only in some flats. Sometimes a new power supply or lock release is all it takes.
- Moving from audio to video: with 2-wire systems we reuse the existing installation and avoid building work, which matters on protected facades or older finishes.
- IP video entry: the call also reaches your phone, useful if you are out all day or the house has a courtyard or a gate some distance off.
In buildings with several flats we also check the entrance panel, each resident’s push button and the door closer, because a new monitor achieves little if the lock will not respond.
Stone houses and uneven roofs: the TV aerial
In the old quarter it is common to find aerials put up many years ago on tiled roofs, with short masts and cable running down the facade. In time the familiar symptoms appear: channels that vanish on windy days, pixelation at certain hours, or one television that works and another that does not.
Our TV aerial work on these houses usually means:
- Replacing old coaxial cable and the splitters that are eating the signal.
- Securing the mast and the aerial so they stand up to the gusts of the mestral.
- Checking the aerial is still suitable after the 700 MHz band was released in 2020, and fitting a 5G filter where there is interference.
- Adding new sockets in rooms that never had a television before.
On the farmhouses and rural properties, distance and changes in level make every case different. We measure before proposing amplification; it is not always needed.
Access control on industrial units and farms
The industrial estate and the farms generate a different kind of job: controlling who gets in. We fit access control with a keypad, card or remote, and combine it with video entry when the gate is a long way from the office or the house.
Newer blocks: what to check before replacing the entry system
In the newer streets the entry system tends to be younger, but that does not make it fault-free. Before we propose new equipment to the committee we check several things: whether the fault affects every resident or only some, what state the entrance panel is in after years of sun and rain, and whether the cabling allows a move to video without running new cable through the light well. With that information the association can decide between repair and replacement on the facts rather than blindly. If there is a communal garage, we can also look at remote or card access for it.
The way we work
First we listen to what you need and, if you can, you send us photographs of the entry system or the aerial. Then we come and see it and make the diagnosis on the spot. From that you get a free quote, fixed to what we have actually seen. When we finish we test every call on the entry system and measure the television signal at the sockets with a field meter.
If you want satellite channels as well, we can fit the dish on the same visit.
Coming out to La Selva del Camp
We leave Salou and, going by way of Reus, arrive in about twenty-five minutes. We look after the old quarter, the newer areas, the industrial estate and the houses across the municipality, including the area around Paretdelgada. Nearby we also work in Castellvell del Camp and Reus.
