Constantí: a Camp town with an industrial side
Constantí has two faces. On one hand the town itself, with its old centre and residential streets, a few kilometres from both Tarragona and Reus. On the other a municipality with a lot of economic activity: industrial estates, logistics firms and the petrochemical complex north of Tarragona close at hand. Its territory also holds the Roman villa of Centcelles, one of the best known sites in the area.
That mix means we get calls in Constantí from businesses as well as from households. We will start with the businesses, because that is where this municipality differs from most of the towns around it.
CCTV for units and businesses
A unit on an industrial estate spends a lot of hours with nobody in it: nights, weekends and holidays. CCTV is the first line of protection. What we take into account when designing the system:
- Perimeter and entrances: shutter doors, pedestrian doors, loading areas and parking.
- Night vision: cameras with infrared, or making use of the outdoor lighting already there.
- An NVR recorder somewhere protected, so the footage does not disappear along with everything else.
- Phone access for the person responsible, with separate users where that is needed.
- A connected alarm, if the business wants immediate alerts.
In a workplace, GDPR has specific requirements: informing staff, the video surveillance sign, and no recording in rest areas or changing rooms. We walk you through all of it.
Access control on the industrial estates
A business sees employees, hauliers, visitors and outside contractors coming through. With physical keys there is no way of knowing who holds a copy. Access control deals with several problems at once:
- Personal credentials (card, fob or code) added and cancelled the moment you need to.
- Time restrictions per user, so certain people only get in during their shift.
- An IP video entry system at the gate, so visitors can be answered from the office or a phone.
Wifi in units full of metal racking
Metal structures, long distances and block walls mean a unit’s network runs out of reach very quickly. In Constantí we build networks with wired access points spread through the building, giving stable coverage across the warehouse, the office and the loading bay. More detail under wifi solutions.
Aerials and door entry in the town
In the houses and flats of the town the work is the usual kind, which does not make it any less important. We check individual and communal TV aerials, particularly installations never properly reset after the channel change that released the 700 MHz band, and we clear 5G interference with the right filters. We also repair door entry systems and video entry systems in residents’ associations.
Small shops and offices
Between the industrial unit and the family home sits a third profile: workshops, shops and offices in the town of Constantí. Here a modest system is usually enough: two or four cameras, a recorder, a wifi network for the premises kept separate from the customer one, and, where several people hold a key, a reader on the door. We size it around what you genuinely need, without overdoing it.
Our process
For a business or for a home, the steps are the same: a visit and an inspection of the site, a detailed free quote, no obligation, and the work carried out at whatever time interferes least with what you do. In industrial units we can work alongside the maintenance manager. At the end we test every camera, every reader and every network point.
Getting to Constantí
Constantí lies north of Salou, inland in the Camp de Tarragona. We reckon on around twenty minutes, depending on the area and the traffic. We cover the town and the industrial estates within the municipality, and we also work in neighbouring El Morell and in La Canonja.
