La Pineda lives by the season
La Pineda belongs to the municipality of Vila-seca, but its character is entirely tourist: the Platja de la Pineda, the promenade, the hotels, Aquopolis and nearby PortAventura pull in thousands of visitors every summer. A large share of its housing is holiday lets or second homes.
For anyone managing one of those flats, a television with no channels or wifi that will not work is not merely an annoyance: it is a bad review. So in La Pineda our work leans heavily towards prevention, and towards leaving installations ready for heavy use.
Communal dishes and channels in other languages
Guests in La Pineda arrive from half the continent, and many expect to find channels from home. We install and repair satellite dishes designed for apartment buildings:
- A communal dish with a multiswitch: one dish on the roof feeding every flat, so each one picks its own satellite and its own channels.
- Receivers in each flat, set up with the channel lists your guests usually ask for.
- Realigning dishes knocked out of position by the autumn and winter storms, which happens constantly on exposed seafront roofs.
Satellites such as Astra 19.2° E cover a good part of what is available across Europe, but every nationality has its own. Before we fit anything, we talk through who your guests are.
Wifi that copes with a full flat
A family of five with phones, tablets and a connected television asks far more of a network than a single owner does. The problems we meet in La Pineda:
- The operator’s router in a corner, never reaching the terrace or the bedrooms.
- Cheap repeaters that duplicate the network without improving the speed.
- One network for everything, mixing the owner’s devices, the cameras and the guests.
We propose mesh systems or wired access points, with a separate guest network. It is explained under wifi solutions.
Digital television in seafront blocks
The television aerial on a La Pineda building suffers what every aerial on this coast suffers: salt, damp and wind. Connectors corrode, water tracks into the cable and the signal degrades bit by bit until one day channels vanish. Add the possibility of interference from 5G networks, corrected with filters at the head-end.
We inspect the communal TV aerial for the building, or the one serving your own flat, measure at each socket and replace whatever has deteriorated with materials rated for outdoor use.
Access without handing out keys
With guests arriving and leaving every few days, keys get lost, copied or forgotten. Access control with codes, cards or phone opening lets you grant permission for the stay only. We fit it on communal entrances and on individual flat doors, always within the building’s own rules.
A check before the summer
Our advice to La Pineda owners and managers is simple: inspect in spring. We visit, measure the aerial and satellite signal, test the wifi in every room and give you a free quote, no obligation for whatever is needed. Sorting it in April is far easier than doing it with the flat occupied in August.
If you manage several flats in one building, checking them on the same day cuts down travel and lets you compare the state of each property in one report.
A step away from Salou
La Pineda runs straight along the coast from Salou, so we get there in about ten minutes. We cover the whole beach area and the buildings along the promenade, and we also work in the town of Vila-seca and in Salou.
