An alarm sized for the property
When somebody looks into an alarm in Tarragona, there is nearly always a specific worry behind it: a break-in on the stairs, premises left alone overnight, or a flat that will be shut up for months. That is where we start. We visit the property, look at how somebody could get in, and propose a system in proportion, with no sensors more and none fewer than it needs.
Everything the service covers, including readers and electronic locks, is set out under alarms and access control.
Flats in the city
In a flat the essentials are the front door and any reachable windows or balconies, particularly on first floors and top-floor flats with a terrace. A typical system includes:
- A control panel with a backup battery and its own communications.
- Magnetic contacts on the front door and on windows at street or courtyard level.
- Motion detectors in the hallway and living room, pet-friendly if you have animals.
- An indoor siren and, if the building allows it, an outdoor one.
- A phone app for arming, disarming and receiving alerts.
In the older buildings of the Eixample and the Part Alta, with thick load-bearing walls, we fit wireless systems and check the range of every sensor before fixing it in place.
Alarms for business premises
A shop, an office or a small storeroom has different needs from a home. Staff open and close, there are set hours, and sometimes stock worth protecting. So we set up users with their own codes, zones that can be armed separately (the stockroom armed while the shop is open, for instance) and alerts only outside working hours.
If you also want to know who comes in and when, we add access control with a card or fob on the staff door. And when the business needs to see what is going on, we bring in cameras; in that case our page on CCTV in Tarragona is worth a look too.
Empty properties and second homes
We get more and more enquiries from owners with inherited flats, properties between tenants, or beach apartments in La Mora and Tamarit that sit closed all winter. Worrying about squatters is understandable, and the best technical tool is to pick up any entry early.
For these cases we suggest:
- Detection on every way in, balconies and utility rooms included.
- Alerts to several people, not just an owner who lives far away.
- An indoor camera so you can check from your phone what set the alarm off.
- A battery check before any long spell with the property unused.
An alarm is no substitute for legal steps or for the authorities, but it does let you know the moment something happens and react quickly.
Access control in apartment blocks
In buildings with a garage, storage units or a shared roof terrace, access control solves the problem of copied keys. Every resident has their own fob, and if one is lost it is cancelled without changing any locks. It is particularly useful in blocks with flats let out.
How we go about it
A visit to survey the property, a free quote, installation in a day for most flats and premises, and a test of every sensor with you there. We work out from Salou and cover every district; there is more about the area on our Tarragona page.
