Three Altafullas, three kinds of installation
Altafulla changes a great deal over a short distance, and so does the aerial work. Up top sits the Vila Closa, with narrow streets, stone houses and old roofs. Down by the beach, Baixamar concentrates apartment blocks and seasonal homes. And around them, estates such as Brises del Mar, with private houses and their own aerials.
In the Vila Closa the delicate parts are access and appearance. Old roofs will not take just any fixing, and neighbours appreciate a mast you cannot see from the street. Here we work with wall or chimney brackets where the structure allows, cables kept tidy and no drilling for the sake of it.
In Baixamar the salt rules. Sea air corrodes bolts, clamps and connectors, and the classic fault is a greenish joint letting damp into the coaxial. The symptom: television that is fine all summer and starts failing with the first autumn rain. We replace connectors with weatherproof ones and, where the cable is already damaged, the whole section.
On the estates the issue is usually alignment and amplification. On top of that, once the 700 MHz band was released for 5G, some older aerials and amplifiers began letting mobile interference through; a well-placed LTE/5G filter clears it in many cases. There is more under TV aerials and satellite dishes.
Door entry systems in the beachside blocks
The apartment buildings in Baixamar have something in common: plenty of movement in summer, very little in winter, and entry systems that have gone years without inspection. June arrives, the flats are opened up and the faults surface: buttons that will not ring, audio nobody can hear, lock releases that refuse to release.
We repair entrance panels, power supplies and handsets, and when an installation has nothing left to give, we propose a move to video. If the residents’ association wants to avoid building work, 2-wire systems reuse the existing cabling. For houses and business premises we also fit IP video entry systems that alert your phone, useful if you let the flat and are not there. Full detail under door entry systems.
A satellite dish for residents from other countries
Altafulla is home, all year or in summer, to people from other countries who want their own channels. We align the satellite dish to whichever satellite you need (Astra 19.2° E for much of what is available across Europe, Hispasat 30° W for Spanish and Portuguese content) and, in apartment buildings, we look at whether distribution with a multiswitch makes sense so nobody has to put a dish on the facade.
Seasonal lets: a television and wifi that draw no complaints
If you let a flat in Altafulla, you know the guest’s first complaint is usually the television or the wifi. Before the season we check that every socket gives a proper signal, that the television has its channels in sensible order, and that the connection reaches the bedrooms and the terrace. In a long, narrow flat, a wired access point in the corridor beats a repeater plugged in anywhere. Options are set out under wifi solutions.
We measure first, then we quote
Diagnosis comes first: readings with a field meter at the aerial and at the sockets to locate where the signal is lost. Then a free quote, with what has to be replaced and what can stay. Only then do we work, and when we finish we measure again and leave the channels tuned.
How we get to Altafulla
From Salou it takes us around half an hour, going through Tarragona. We cover the Vila Closa, Baixamar, Brises del Mar and the rest of the municipality. If you have another property in the area, we also work in Torredembarra and in El Catllar.
