Communal aerials in Torredembarra buildings
Torredembarra has grown towards the sea and towards its residential estates. In Baix a Mar, by the Paella beach and the harbour, and in areas such as Els Munts, multi-storey buildings and developments with pools are everywhere. Many have a communal aerial fitted years ago, before the current ICT rules (the regulation in force is RD 346/2011), and have been through several retunings without anyone ever inspecting the head-end.
These are the faults that repeat most in the town’s residents’ associations:
- Channels that vanish in some flats and not others. Usually the distribution network: corroded tap-offs, cable crushed in a riser, or a badly connected socket affecting the ones below it.
- A picture that freezes at certain times of day. Very often mobile interference. Since the 700 MHz band went to 5G, unfiltered head-ends are more exposed.
- Faults after a storm. On the front line, the easterly wind and the salt punish masts and connectors.
Our work starts at the head-end: we measure every channel at the output of the programmable unit or the single-channel amplifiers, then go floor by floor until we find where the level drops. That way the quote matches the actual fault. More under communal TV aerials.
Door entry and access control in residential developments
In a town with this many seasonal flats, the entry system is the first thing anyone notices when it fails. We repair entrance panels, power supplies and lock releases, and we renew whole installations to video. If the building has old cabling, we look at 2-wire systems so no new cable has to be pulled up the stairwell. See door entry systems.
Estates with communal grounds usually want a further step: access control on the pool, the courts or the garage, with fobs or cards that can be cancelled when a tenant leaves. It is a simple way of stopping the communal pool filling up with strangers in August.
A check before the summer
Plenty of Torredembarra communities go from a handful of residents in winter to full occupancy in July. If the aerial or the entry system fails right then, the complaints multiply and finding a slot for an urgent repair is much harder. That is why we recommend a check in spring:
- The state of masts, guys and fixings after the winter storms.
- Connectors and junction boxes on the roof, where damp gets in.
- Signal levels at the head-end and at the most distant sockets.
- The working of the entrance panel, lock release and entry system power supply.
- The readers and fobs on the pool access control.
With that check the association knows what is sound, what should be changed soon and what can wait, with no surprises mid-season.
Private houses in Clarà and Els Muntanyans
It is not all blocks. In the houses around Clarà and near Els Muntanyans we work with individual aerials, often alongside a satellite dish for channels from other countries. We also get called out to extend the wifi to upper floors or into the garden.
From the call to the repair in your building
We come to the address, listen to what is happening and measure with a field meter. With the diagnosis done, we send a free quote: for a residents’ association, in writing so it can go to a meeting. After the repair we check the signal at the head-end and at representative sockets, and leave the installation tuned.
Reaching Torredembarra from Salou
It takes us a little over half an hour from Salou, heading up the coast beyond Tarragona. We cover the centre, Baix a Mar, Els Munts, Clarà, Els Muntanyans and the rest of the municipality. Very close by we also cover Creixell and Altafulla.
