Aerial installation in Creixell: from scratch or renewing the old one
Creixell has two sides. Up top, the nucli antic gathers around the castle, with village houses and old roofs. Towards the sea, the beach area and estates such as Les Morisques bring together flats, townhouses and homes with gardens, many of them second homes. Each area needs a different answer when it comes to aerials.
When we carry out a new installation we always follow the same order. First we measure the signal at several points on the roof or terrace to choose where the mast goes. Then we mount the UHF aerial, align it with a field meter rather than by trying channels on the television, and decide whether an amplifier is needed. Last, we run good coaxial to every aerial point and check level and quality at all of them.
If the aerial already exists but is failing, the most common causes in Creixell are:
- Aerials from before 2020. After the second digital dividend some channels changed frequency, and aerials or amplifiers that filtered poorly began to give trouble.
- Damp in closed-up homes. A flat that spends the winter shut near the beach collects moisture in boxes and connectors. In June the faults show up.
- Mobile interference. An LTE/5G filter in the right place clears pixelation that looks completely random.
Every type of job is listed under TV aerials and satellite dishes.
Satellite dishes for channels from abroad
The beach side of Creixell has many owners from other countries and from other parts of Spain who want their usual channels. We fit and realign satellite dishes towards Astra 19.2° E or Hispasat 30° W according to what you need, with LNB and cabling rated for outdoor use.
A frequent problem: the dish has moved a few millimetres in the wind, or on a rusted bracket, and the signal drops away on rainy days. We replace the bracket where necessary and realign by measuring the satellite signal. In apartment buildings we look at a communal installation with a multiswitch so the facade is not covered in dishes.
Village houses in the nucli antic
Up in the streets climbing towards the castle, the work is different. The village houses have several floors, thick walls and old roofs where drilling without first checking the structure is unwise. The aerial cable was often run down the facade decades ago, has lost its insulation and now lets water in.
In these houses we normally propose:
- Anchoring the mast to a wall or chimney rather than onto fragile tiles.
- Renewing the coaxial route inside the building, using existing voids where they exist.
- Adding sockets on floors that have been refurbished without signal taken to them.
- Fitting an amplifier only where the readings justify it, because too much gain breaks the picture up as well.
The aim is an installation that lasts and shows as little as possible from the street.
Before you arrive in summer
If your Creixell house stands unused for months, let us know in advance. We can check the installation before you get here, with access arranged through you or whoever holds the keys, and leave the television tuned and the router working. If you also want the wifi to reach the terrace or the pool, we deal with it on the same visit using access points or a mesh system; more under wifi solutions.
What every visit in Creixell includes
- Diagnosis with a field meter at the aerial, along the cable and at the sockets.
- A free quote, no obligation, explained and given before anything is touched.
- Materials for outdoor and coastal use: weatherproof connectors, corrosion-resistant brackets.
- A final check of the signal, and channel tuning with you there.
Travelling out to Creixell
From Salou we reach Creixell in about thirty-five minutes, up the coast towards the Baix Gaià. We cover the nucli antic, the beach, Les Morisques and the area around Els Muntanyans. On the same run we work in Torredembarra and in Altafulla.
